NEEDED: RADIOLOGY TECHNICIAN LOCATION: 2425 S 200 th St., SeaTac, WA 98198 STATUS: Part-Time HOURS: 24 Hours per week, 8 hours per day, 3 days per week QUALIFICATIONS: US CITIZEN – We do not sponsor HB visas. Must have successfully completed a radiology technician training program through a post-secondary school or college accredited by a regional or national accrediting organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, and acceptable by the Washington Department of Health under RCW 18.84.080. Must hold a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Radiologic Technologist from the State of Washington. Have at least 6 months of applicable experience as evidenced on their resume, Provide two (2) letters of reference, Hold a current CPR certification. Must possess knowledge of methods, techniques, and procedures to perform job activities on various types of medical equipment and automated systems. Must also possess knowledge of safety principles and infection control in the patient care environment. Possess the ability to relate and deal effectively with Physicians, peers, inmates, and others; and, to recognize, report, and record changes in patient's physical and emotional condition. DUTIES: Radiology Technician shall be capable of performing any and all radiology procedures needed without any technical support. The current radiological equipment provided at the FDC SeaTac is a digital machine. Knowledge of digital equipment is preferred but not required. Perform routine radiologic procedures ordered by the medical staff Evaluate radiographic equipment for calibrations and repairs Possess knowledge of basic emergency situations that may occur during special radiographic procedures Schedule exams; maintain records, scan results into the inmate's electronic medical record (BEMR) Possess knowledge of various pathological abnormalities as demonstrated by radiographic imaging Independently assess and select technical exposure factors and positions necessary to obtain a proper quality diagnostic exam. Receive patients and explain procedures to alleviate undue anxiety Independently perform all radiographic procedures, i.e., chest, bone, skull, spines, and portable x-rays, etc. Notify Radiologist, or referring Physician of any preliminary abnormalities seen while patient is undergoing an exam, so that additional views, or exams can be ordered if needed Coordinate transfer of patient radiologic records to ensure continuity of care Work with Clinical Director to ensure monitoring and evaluation activities are completed Act as liaison between radiologist and medical staff Receive training and orientation and comply with correctional techniques as they pertain to medical services Develop a working knowledge of FDC SeaTac's medical protocols Wear outer protective clothing and obey CDC universal precautions at all times Function in other duties commensurate of a Radiological Technician Computerization and printing of daily log Computerization and printing of exam requisitions Print all folder and exam labels Complete all x-ray studies ordered by the medical staff Assist the staff with maintenance of equipment and supplies, Notify staff when supplies are needed, Conduct quality assurance tests and daily maintenance on x-ray equipment, as needed Assist with FDA inspections and prepare for Joint Commission and program review, as needed Assure that all x-ray requests are completed properly Computerization of patient logs and repeat analysis BENEFITS: Competitive hourly pay rate, 401K opportunity, Healthcare benefits contribution.
