As a Fund Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining and updating accounting data to ensure all items are properly reconciled against records. You will also be responsible for calculating daily Net Asset Value of the assigned Mutual Funds/Pools/ Classes in a timely and accurate manner and prepare tax distribution reporting on a yearly basis. Is this role right for you? In this role you will: Calculate Net Asset Value per share daily of the assigned funds Reconcile general ledgers to subsidiary ledgers and escalate to Senior Fund Accountants/Assistant Manager for outages Review and process transactions related to dividends, interest, corporate actions, and trades instructed by traders/portfolio managers Reconcile and review accounting holdings to custody, investment book of record and prime broker statements and investigate and resolve any outages Reconcile and review accounting unitholder holdings to transfer agency report. Investigate and resolve any outages. Reconcile and review bank statements and investigate and resolve any outages with internal and external parties Review tolerance threshold breaks as outlined in the department policy and communicate any issues to Senior Fund Accountants/Assistant Manager for assistance. Participate in problem solving sessions to identify problems and solutions Assist in the preparation of tax distribution calculation Complete ad-hoc requests as assigned by the Assistant Manager Ensure all entries are recorded as per accounting standards (such as GAAP) Communicate issues to Senior Fund Accountants and Assistant Managers for escalation Process and modify trades in accounting system, as per instructions received from Portfolio Managers and traders The Must Haves: University degree in accounting and finance Working towards or completion in CSC certification is an asset Prior.
