Together we are working with Nova Scotians to build a better future through sustainable natural resource management as we all benefit from the natural health and wealth of the province. novascotia. ca/natr/ About Our Opportunity As the Regional Forester (Forester 3), you will work within a multi-disciplinary Integrated Resource Management (IRM) planning team, providing expert advice to department Senior Management, Directors, Managers, Area Supervisors regarding provincial and regional Crown land requests. You will liaison and provide advice to other government departments, municipal units and community groups and may participate on community, interdepartmental and intergovernmental committees. Primary Accountabilities Some of the primary accountabilities in the role include: Managing a program related to Crown land access and use activities including reviewing permit applications, coordinating feedback from other government resource professionals and compiling recommendations for senior management. Developing effective long-range policies, programs, procedures, and standards by maintaining information systems, evaluating program effectiveness, and preparing policy proposals and management strategies.
