This is a full-time permanent position within the growing 26-person legal department. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING The Legal Counsel, Policy Manager (“LCPM”) reports to the Associate Director, Legal, and is responsible for managing the policy group of the legal department. The LCPM conducts and oversees research on professional regulation and administrative law matters, suggests changes to legislation and bylaws, oversees regular bylaw amendments, and creates and amends policies and procedures. More specifically, this role is responsible for: developing and directing research; researching and drafting legal memoranda on professional regulation and administrative law; suggesting legislative amendments and responding to regulatory issues related to the Professional Governance Act and the forthcoming International Credentials Recognition Act; evaluating and drafting.
