POSITION SUMMARY: As a Programs Assistant, you will play a vital role in the setup, monitoring, and closure of in-person programs at ROM. Your responsibilities will include interacting with visitors, providing wayfinding assistance, and ensuring that artists and performers have everything they need for their presentations. You'll be instrumental in creating an inviting and informative environment for our guests. RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare front-of-house needs for public programs and events. Guide artists, performers, and presenters, ensuring their presentation needs are fully met. Set up and dismantle program-specific signage and wayfinding materials. Provide excellent customer service and resolve visitor queries effectively. Perform administrative and related duties as required to support program operations. QUALIFICATIONS: Community College diploma in Hospitality and Tourism. At least three years of experience in audience engagement in a public program or event setting. Strong customer service and problem-solving skills. Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication abilities. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multi-department team environment. Skilled in facilitating program/event setup, audience service needs, and program closure. Flexibility to work varying hours, including outside regular museum hours. French/English bilingualism is a valuable asset. Salary and Terms of Employment START DATE: ASAPOPEN DATE: December 18, 2023CLOSE DATE: January 12, 2024STATUS: Part-time Contract EMPLOYEE GROUP: OPSEU Local 543HOURLY RATE: $23.64 - 27.01SCHEDULE: up to 24 hours weekly PROBATIONARY PERIOD: 420 hours or six (6) months LOCATION (onsite/hybrid): Toronto, ON Diversity.
