Role Purpose: Reporting to the CEO, AFME is seeking a dynamic individual to cover a 12-month maternity leave for the Head of Communications & Marketing. As the leader of a team with two direct reports, this role is instrumental in shaping and executing all external communications for AFME, with a special focus on the international media landscape in non-English-speaking markets. Key Accountabilities: Communications: Drive AFME’s Public Relations activities to enhance the organisation’s profile in Europe. Develop and execute AFME's international communications plan, supporting engagement in policy and legislative initiatives. Proactively seek opportunities for comment and generate media coverage. Be the internal expert and go-to person for advice and support on PR activities. Responsible for communication of AFME news, research, and reports across various platforms. Media Relations: Be the primary point of contact for all media enquiries. Respond promptly and accurately to press enquiries, organise press interviews, and ensure interviewees are prepared. Oversee all communications to the media, including preparing media-friendly materials on complex regulatory subjects. Cultivate and manage relationships with all media. Ensure strong media attendance at AFME conferences and organise press conferences in key EU capitals. Marketing: Line management of the Marketing Executive.
