Reporting to the Service Manager, the Building Automation System Technician will be responsible for projects, maintenance, and service calls. Under the supervision of the Service Manager with support, the Technician will conduct themselves successfully and as required to fulfill contracts, contribute to projects, and service our valued clients and stakeholders. Responsibilities include: Examine current or new systems and equipment Support with take-offs and quotes Set up and fix network issues (IP, RS-485, etc. ) Verify I/O connections Adjust, improve, and solve system problems Create a user-friendly graphical interface Record and organize commissioning Submit commissioning reports Check wiring and start automation using provided software and tools Calibrate as needed Troubleshoot software and hardware issues Keep daily, weekly, and/or monthly documentation and or reports as required Attend training to increase job-related skills Help train other employees as directed Follow the schedule prepared by the service coordinators Respond to emergencies as needed including emergency calls at non-scheduled hours Requirements: College Diploma in Electromechanical Engineering Technology or similar Demonstrated experience working with Building Automation Systems, IP Networking, Low voltage control systems Mechanical and HVAC systems, Electromechanical devices, Pneumatic Control Experience with some or all the following programming tools: Niagara Workbench, Schneider Electric Eco Struxure, KMC Controls, Distech Controls, Honeywell Spyder Tools, Johnson Controls PCT Ability to adapt quickly to new software and interfaces. Comfortable in most aspects of computer operation Health and Safety is a core paramount value of Carmichael Engineering.
