Our ability to integrate distinct specialties gives customers the opportunity to work with a coordinated team for the design and maintenance of their infrastructure. About The Role The successful candidate will be responsible for the electronic drafting support of engineering activities associated with utility construction. Summary of duties and responsibilities: Assist in the design and construction of overhead and underground high voltage electrical systems Perform AutoCAD/Microsoft drawing activities as assigned Input field data into electronic format Assist engineering staff with the design and layout of construction prints Complete daily contract administration; attends project meetings Conducts field audits for the construction of gas and/or electrical power systems Provides engineering information to customers; responds to inquiries and requests Demonstrates knowledge of construction sites, the work, and the feasibility of the construction Fosters a safe, productive job-site environment and quality work products; encourages an attitude of safety and quality in others Requirements/Qualifications: Two-year or Four-year degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, civil) or relevant experience in lieu of degree. Knowledge of computer drafting (AutoCAD acceptable, MicroStation preferred) Basic understanding of utility electric and/or gas design standards and procedures Knowledge of electric utility equipment in the field and understanding of the electric distribution process Ability to design electric distribution systems based on field/site conditions and notes, utility infrastructure maps, and input from utility engineers Experience with contractual related project/work environment a plus Proficiency level in MS Office applications (specifically Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook) Willingness to participate in a team environment Willingness to work in an outside environment Excellent verbal and written communication Valid driver's license Company Benefits Company-paid health insurance (dental, short-term and long-term disability, and life insurance are provided) Zero deductibles 100% 401k match (up to 5% of salary) Paid holiday & vacation time Educational assistance Various discount programs Utilitra is committed to building and sustaining an equitable and inclusive work environment where diversity is expected and valued.
