Family Advocate Family & Children's Place, based in Louisville, KY, is looking to hire a full-time Family Advocate to provide case management services to children and their families. This human services position earns competitive pay of $19.53 and a sign-on bonus of $300 . A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A FAMILY ADVOCATE As a Family Advocate in the Child Advocacy Center, you play a key role in providing case management for children and families. You serve as an advocate for child victims of sexual abuse and other forms of child maltreatment as well as their non-offending family members, to help them navigate trauma and heal. In addition, you provide crisis intervention and information that will benefit the individual you're working with. When needed, you offer referral services so your clients are aware of the different available resources. You approach each case with compassion and empathy to ensure the children and families you work with feel comfortable around you. Being able to make a direct, positive impact on your clients' lives brings you great fulfillment and motivates you to put forth your best effort each day in this social work position! QUALIFICATIONS FOR A FAMILY ADVOCATE Bachelor's degree in the field of mental health, education, human services, or criminal justice 1 year of experience working in criminal justice or human services Ability to pass a background check as well as a child abuse and neglect check upon hire Willingness to take a drug test, TB screening, and fingerprint screening upon hire Current Covid-19 vaccination Do you have excellent verbal and written communication skills? Are you highly organized and attentive to detail? Can you effectively prioritize tasks while demonstrating good time management? Are you able to maintain a friendly and positive demeanor?
