Head Chef About Us Neighbors Nashville is a premier sports bar destination in the Middle Tennessee market which provides the most enjoyable sports immersive experience unlike anywhere else in the greater Nashville area. We aim to create an atmosphere that welcomes everyone in a neighborly fashion, providing excellent service, crushable drinks and coveted food. From our sports-adorned walls full of memorabilia and massive TVs, we are here to provide a great time for all and grow into a neighborhood near you. Role As the Head Chef, you will act as the director of all of the kitchen operations of your location, including maintaining food quality and consistency, maintaining food cost, and controlling the schedule and flow of your kitchen. You will be expected to assure the scheduling is within the parameters of your labor budget, create order guides and pars and adjust based off of sales projections and previous sales, monitor the execution of the menu by staff, and monitor inventory levels. You will be responsible for the development of both your Sous Chef and your hourly team, maintain clear and excellent communication with both staff and the General Manager of your store, and set the standard with outstanding leadership and organizational abilities. This role will be for our new location opening late this summer in the Gulch! Role Responsibilities Keeping up with the cleanliness of the kitchen and delegating tasks to maintain equipment Maintain Safe Food Procedures in accordance with local and state health codes, as well as the standard set forward by Neighbors The hiring and training of new BOH employees Streamlining the kitchen to ensure fast and accurate orders Development of hourly team members and Sous Chef on a bi-monthly basis Ordering of materials, supplies and ingredients based on demand Build and maintain order guides and inventory sheets Maintain a consistent food cost by tracking variances and reviewing usage Work with General Manager to maintain labor and cost expectations on a quarterly level Perform weekly/monthly inspections with General Manager and Sous Chef to maintain cleanliness standards Daily Responsibilities Lead daily meetings with both morning and night crews about expectations of the shift Writing the schedule and checking it with the General Manager Perform Temperature checks of receiving, prepped food and coolers to assure food quality Coaching in the moment promptly Daily development of staff and Sous Chef Placing orders and updating par guides Tracking food waste and over/under usages Maintaining daily labor goals Job Qualifications 2+ years of previous kitchen management experience required Availability for all shifts required (nights and weekends, some holidays) Knowledge of several cooking methods, kitchen equipment, and best practices Understanding of Aloha systems and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Manager ServSafe Certification preferred Ability to work with General Manager and Executive Chef on daily, weekly, and monthly communications Dedication to health and safe service standards set by Health Department and Neighbors Nashville
