GENERAL REQUIREMENTS Responsible for posting patient charges, posting insurance and patient payments,billing insurance, billing patients and responding to patient's billing questions.Demonstrate ability to consistently meet work schedule demands in the clinic.Maintain awareness of safety in carrying out duties and responsibilities. Adhere to universal precautions and infection control policies and procedures.Maintain patient confidentiality and use discretion in patient interactions.Promote a positive, professional image of the clinic. Promote positive interpersonal relationships with patients and co-workers.Maintain awareness of workload of co-workers and offer assistance as needed. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Post office and surgical chargesPost insurance and patient personal paymentsBill insurance companies and patientsFollow-up on unpaid insurance claimsFollow-up on unpaid patient statementsReceive and respond to billing calls SKILLS REQUIRED Good communication, organizational and multi-tasking skillsAbility to adapt to changes in the workplace, duties and office policies.General computer knowledge and ability to adapt to current office software. EDUCATION High school diploma or GEDKnowledge of ICD-9, ICD-10 and CPT-4 coding
