General Purpose The People and Culture Manager will be responsible for creating an exceptional employee experience and culture, with a focus on attracting the best talent, developing the best talent and retaining the best talent. Position Summary This role, reporting directly to the Franchisee, is tasked with attracting, engaging developing, and retaining the best talent. This person is passionate about building a positive, collaborative culture and understands the importance of setting a solid foundation built on systems and behaviors that represent the company values. The People and Culture Manager is a great communicator and oversees all day-to-day Talent Management and applicable HR functions. This person is a critical thinker, who can creatively solve problems and effectively streamline processes. Essential Duties Duties include, but are not limited to the following: HR and Talent Management: Identify, develop and implement key HR and Talent Management initiatives that will substantially enhance the success of the business, including but not limited to: Recruitment, Selection, Hiring, Onboarding: Manage full-cycle recruitment, from identifying and addressing talent requirements to onboarding new hires, always looking to further improve the candidate journey; Coach managers on hiring practices and internal hiring and selection systems, and train them on proper hiring tools and procedures. Must be able to learn, utilize and own all current hiring tools and Applicant Tracking Technology. Training and Development: Work with managers to identify training requirements and design development opportunities to enable all team members to grow in their roles and careers; Build capability of the unit managers through training and coaching in effective people management; Ensure learning plans are in place and all employees on the site are trained to the required standard and all training is recorded accurately. Performance Management : Support the annual performance planning process, providing training for managers, collating self-assessment/supervisor assessment scores and calibrating in line with the wider business. Employee Relations: Assist the business, alongside the Franchisee and Employment Counsel, in complex or high-risk employee relations cases ; Provide proactive employee relations to employees and managers, including acting as a trusted HR advisor to management in order to build and maintain a high performing and engaged team; Coach managers to gain employee relations advice and guidance, and support the manager in quickly and positively resolve any issues; Maintain and promote relationships with the wider HR colleagues and teams. People Programs, Systems, and Processes: Develop, administer, and revise HR policies and programs, and own the handbook, based on a solid understanding of employment standards and laws; Utilizing change management strategies to implement change; Proactively keep Employment Law knowledge up to date as legislation changes; Oversee Diversity and Inclusion strategies within the company. Planning: Working with the Franchisee on the organizational design of the business and succession plan; Lead all talent management activities and ensure succession and development plans are up to date for key roles. Establish and analyze metrics to measure success and provide reports on retention/turnover, team member engagement, training and culture initiatives. Culture and Employee Experience: Champion the Sonny's culture and ensure all employees are aware of our Ideals and associated desired behaviors. Identify and implement opportunities to improve our team member experience; Assess current programs and propose innovative ways to improve existing ones. Monitor and track team member engagement through our pulse survey platform, developing ways to increase scores if necessary. Plan and organize the company's internal events and social calendar (off-sites, team building events); Manage and administer the company's culture/events budget. Ensure annual and/or employee pulse surveys are completed by all employees on site, communicate results and own activity plan to drive improved employee engagement. Leads the employee engagement, learning and culture development plans and interventions, as well as champion excellent people management practices within the company. Support the Franchisee with the delivery of all people and culture projects. Communicate, engage and represent Sonny's in various culture initiatives within the community and social platforms. Performs other duties as necessary. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of Sonny's Brand and the restaurant industry. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to prioritize your time to meet deadlines for multiple projects. Ability to tackle big projects by breaking them down into smaller pieces. Ability to successfully pick up new skills on the job, including learning new technologies. Ability to adapt with change and be flexible. Ability to anticipate the needs of others. Ability to see a problem and propose a solution. Ability to lead meetings and presentations, and ability to interface with all levels of staff with tact and diplomacy. Must have and maintain reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, good driving record, and appropriate insurance coverage. Ability to comply with federal, state, and local regulations, and company safety policies. Required Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. 5+ years of HR/People Operations experience in a fast-paced environment. 3 Years previous management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Successful experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Previous experience performing tasks found in the Essential Duties above. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The People and Culture Manager may frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. While performing the duties of this job in the stores, the People and Culture Manager regularly works with or near moving mechanical parts, may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, and is requested to work with cleaning chemicals which can be toxic and/or caustic. He/she may be exposed to temperatures between 0 ° and 100 ° . Occasional travel in a car will be needed in this position.
