POSITION TITLE: IT SUPPORT TECHNICIAN HELP DESK FLSA: NON-EXEMPT REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Associate degree or equivalent in related field required or two+ years of experience in IT position. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook experience required. Familiarity with basic networking terminology and concepts required. Professional oral and written communication skills required. Strong customer service skills required. Experience or training in computer hardware and software support with Windows Operating Systems is desirable. Must be willing to learn new procedures and follow established standards. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Physical mobility sufficient to service PCs and other equipment installed under desks, in wiring closets and to run cabling in ceilings. PRINCIPAL DUTIES: Answering the Help Desk phone and responding to Help Desk e-mails. Configuring, installing and moving computers, printers, fax machines, and telephones. Diagnosing and repairing computers, printers, fax machines, and telephone malfunctions. Installing new software and software upgrades. Training users on the use of computers, printers, fax machines, and telephones. Learning and administering all applicable software that is used on the Suncoast network Other duties as assigned.
