Position Summary and Duties: Read and interpret plans, prints, drawings, or job write-ups and compare to what has been designed and built, checking for any discrepancies, errors, problems or potential problems or questions. Field telephone calls from customers and determine need and/or problem by interpreting their questions and asking for pertinent information. Advise customer on troubleshooting and attempt to solve their problem over the phone. Travel to job sites as needed and assist in start-up and/or field test of product for customer. Using company guidelines, adapt usual testing methods for on-site applications. Communicate appropriate information to customer and answer questions as needed. Travel to job sites as needed and provide trouble-shooting services to solve errors, problems, or potential problems of product on site. Communicate appropriate information to customer and answer questions as needed. Communicate all findings to necessary company personnel. Prepare, create, and distribute appropriate testing reports. Obtain acceptance documents from customer as necessary. Assist in the testing of electrical controls in the Electrical Test Area when not traveling. Assist with load testing as needed. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities : Must be self-motivated with excellent problem-solving skills and able to work independently with a high degree of self-confidence. Ability to work as part of a team, with a high degree of enthusiasm and commitment. Must be willing and able to travel, including out of the country, and work overtime as needed. Demonstrated ability to read and interpret schematics, plans, drawings, prints or similar job write-ups and how they apply to design or product. Strong knowledge of programmable logic controls and generators of all sizes and their relationships to diesel or gas engines. General computer literacy. Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing to customers of all kinds and with all levels within the company. Good listening skills. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and able to crouch, stoop, push, pull, grasp, bend, lean, reach and climb. Vision correctable to 20/20. Ability to tolerate outdoor weather conditions such as heat, cold, rain or snow. Above average mechanical aptitude and ability to work with his or her hands.
