Description:
The Electrical Controls Designer must be a creative, self-starter who can work unsupervised towards broadly defined goals. Will act as a technical resource and backup to the electrical engineering manager. Will be responsible for electrical and controls designs. Responsibilities Good understanding of the electrical design, electrical wiring and industrial automation and/or controls. A strong knowledge of burner control theory as laid out in industry standards such as ASME, UL, and NFPA The ability to troubleshoot, debug and otherwise solve technical issues relating to controller wiring and controller function. Excellent understanding of electrical circuit design and electrical circuit component selection Knowledge of wiring diagram standards and experience in electrical CAD Knowledge of electrical design standards such as the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70), enclosure rating systems such as NEMA and IP Occasional travel when required to discuss project requirements with customers, troubleshoot technical issues at project sites. Requirements Associate's degree Minimum 3 years of product design/CAD experience Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Excellent oral and written communication skills Excellent organizational and time management skills Great problem-solving skills, attention to detail and ability to multi-task Ability to work under minimal supervision. Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment. Good ability to communicate technical details to customers and peers.
