Our firm is currently looking for an Associate Accountant in our Accounting Controllership Services Department to join our team. This position is responsible for performing accounting processes on a variety of engagements, including: audits, reviews and compilations of financial statements for a variety of industries. Also responsible for preparing federal, state, county and local payroll, sales and income tax returns for both businesses and individuals, under supervision of more experienced personnel. Other responsibilities may include preparing and adjusting journal entries, depreciation schedules and other accounting functions. What you will do in this Associate Accountant role: Apply appropriate accounting principles during the performance of client engagements and assignments to ensure accurate and reliable data and client satisfaction Record accounting transactions; prepare trial balances and simple financial statements Prepare work papers accurately and efficiently Review accounting transactions and consider appropriate application of generally accepted accounting principles Prepare basic sales tax and payroll tax returns Comply with continuing professional education requirements of the firm which may include AICPA and FICPA, if certified What you'll bring to the table: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field 2+ years of experience in public accounting Attention to detail with strong communication and organizational skills Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, and Excel Intermediate knowledge of accounting software systems, including Quickbooks, Intacct, CCH Axcess and firm accounting and time billing software James Moore & Co., P.L. is a Top 200 public accounting and business consulting firm located in Florida with offices in Daytona Beach, DeLand, Gainesville, Ocala, and Tallahassee.
