Christensen Farms is the largest shareholder of Triumph Foods LLC, a producer-owned primary pork processing plant in St. Joseph, Missouri. In turn, Triumph Foods members own 50 percent of Daily's Premium Meats, a specialty pork processor of bacon and other premium pork products. Triumph Foods also holds a 50 percent partnership in Seaboard Triumph Foods, LLC of Sioux City, Iowa, a primary pork processing plant. Position Overview & Responsibilities: CF is looking for a self-motivated accountant to join our accounting and finance team. In this position, you will play an important role in the company's financial operations ensuring accuracy in accounting and reporting as well as compliance with risk management policies. This position is for an experienced accountant with developed system, excel, reporting skills and the ability to learn - should be a self-starter. The candidate will immediately have duties and responsibilities of General Ledger posting, financial and managerial reporting duties, processing vendor invoices, cash management, and business partnering with functions concerning their department costs. Other duties may also include the preparation of Audit and Tax workpapers, Fixed Asset processing, preparation and routing of capital requests, project accounting as well as supporting an ERP system implementation. It is expected that this position will continue progressing in complexity of accounting understanding and activities as well as advance into more levels of responsibility in reporting and accounting operations. Major Areas of Responsibility: Preparation of schedules and reconciliations of General Ledger activity as well as prepare and process journal entries. System maintenance and updates as well as account analysis and various adhoc activities to support period end close. Other accounting activity as assigned. Business partnering with assigned departments. Preparation of managerial and financial reports as well as commentary. Track and monitor spend against budget for capital projects Administer contracts and risk controls for capital projects Assist project team in process design, build and test of a new ERP system Assist with and actively participate on process improvement opportunities and assist with implementation as required. Responsible to communicate with CF employees and outside vendors on accounting/billing issues, processes and vendor statements. Management Scope and level of responsibility: Individual Contributor: Position without supervisory responsibilities Supervision of Others: Direct Reports: None Indirect Reports: None Reports to: Assistant Controller Education, Training and Experience Requirements: Musts: Bachelor's degree in Accounting Basic spreadsheet skills Minimum ten key speed of 10,000 kph with expectation of achieving 14,000 kph in 60 days Ability to work independently Analytical skills Understanding of accounting rules (GAAP) Wants: SL(MS) accounting software knowledge Experience in Microsoft Office programs Specialized or Motorized Equipment and/or Tools: This position may require occasionally operating a company vehicle, in which any employment offer will be contingent upon the review of the candidate's motor vehicle record (MVR).
