A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MANUFACTURING ENGINEER As a Manufacturing Engineer, you're responsible for developing our manufacturing processes according to complex drawings and specifications. You test and report cost estimates for these processes with a focus on improvement, cost efficiency, and safety. For all manufacturing operations, you initiate and complete cost reduction ideas and lead the implementation of continuous improvement projects alongside management within the department. You also complete special projects as assigned by management and provide support for ERP-related issues using SAP software. Additionally, you maintain schedules and technical requirements for all production work with an emphasis on projects. You develop production plans for significant projects and provide cost estimates for all manufacturing work. Regarding technical issues, you provide direction to our technical services team. You also perform capital equipment justifications for potential investments and communicate requirements to other departments, such as purchasing or inventory, as required. Serving as a liaison, you maintain communication between your department and the others, ensuring everyone is on the same page to continuously improve our processes. You manage any miscellaneous projects or additional tasks that come your way. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A MANUFACTURING ENGINEER Bachelor's degree in mechanical or industrial engineering 5+ years of experience in industrial engineering, preferably in a low-volume, high-mix environment Ability to read and understand blueprints and bills of material High degree of mechanical aptitude Do you have excellent verbal and written communication skills? Can you maintain a neat and clean work area? Do you have safe working habits? Are you able to positively contribute to a collaborative environment?
