This is a unique and rewarding sales-like position with a lucrative bonus plan that helps people with disabilities or disadvantages secure meaningful employment. As a Job Developer, you will meet with employers and establish trusting, collaborative partnerships with the goal of securing competitive job placements. This involves spending time in the community, prospecting and generating leads, and championing the supports offered by our employment programs.The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, with occasional evenings and weekends. The work environment is a mix of in the office, work from home, and in the community. What You'll Do: Promote PathPoint and the hiring of individuals who have disabilities. Generate leads appropriate to people of varying interests and strengths supported through PathPoint's programs. Assist individuals with pre-employment vocational counseling and job preparation activities, including resume preparation, cover letters, and job applications; contact local employers, arrange interviews, and accompany the individual to interviews when requested. Work with program staff to confirm job matching and level of intervention required. Maintain good customer relations throughout the life of the employment collaboration. What We're Looking For: Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 including booster if eligible, or have an approved exemption 2+ years of commission-driven outside business development/sales experience, vocational rehabilitation experience, or vocational counseling experience required Strong interpersonal skills Highly organized and results-driven Must pass pre-employment fingerprint background check, health screen and TB test Must have access to reliable transportation for regular travel in the assigned service area Culturally sensitive and aware of differences in employees based on cultural backgrounds; aware of one's own culture and how someone's background may lead to biases; has the skills and resources needed to work with employees from all different cultures and the ability to avoid making biased assumptions based on someone's culture. This is an hourly, non-exempt position with base pay starting at $19.00 per hour. The position's base pay range is $18.78-$28.17 an hour. In addition to base pay, Employment Specialists earn bonuses. Based on 2022 earnings, the average annualized bonus earnings increased the hourly equivalent pay by $8.00 to $10.00. There are no caps on earning bonuses, and the amount actually earned in bonuses will depend on performance. The pay range is subject to change based on a variety of factors, and the maximum base pay represents the wage potential based on attaining the highest level of position experience, talent, and responsibilities. Bilingual: If you are bilingual (English-Spanish or English-ASL), the starting wage is $19.72 per hour plus placement bonuses as described above, and the base pay range is $19.72-$29.58.
