Position Overview Performs ophthalmic diagnostic procedures within the scope of Ophthalmic Assistant Certification. Performs ophthalmic photographic services and the necessary documentation for the diagnosis and treatment of eye disorders. Experience One (1) to two (2) years of work experience under ophthalmological supervision required. Experience as an ophthalmic photographer or related experience in this area preferred. Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate) Grade 12. Introductory photography course required or an equivalent combination of photography education, training and experience. It is recommended that, at minimum, staff possess the Family & Friends category of BLS training. Certification/Licensure/Registration Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (J. C. A. H. P. O. ) Certification required. Qualifications and Skills Proficiency in computer/word processing required. Works within the Centre’s core values, philosophy, vision, C. Q. I. goals, policies and procedures. Must be mature and capable of working under minimal supervision. Must show initiative, good judgement, the ability to train, provide instruction, organize his/her work.
