Essential Duties and Functions Provide technical and administrative support for OHS department. Maintain OHS, Disability and Training records, files, and databases. Prepare OHS reports and presentations. Writing health and safety, programs, and procedures for approval by OHS Manager. Assist in the development and deliver required safety training. Conduct inspections and audits to assure compliance with safety requirements. Participate in incident investigation and/or emergency response. Liaises with management, employees, external OHS related agencies. Other duties and assignments as required Knowledge and Skill Requirements Knowledge of OH&S Act, WSIA with emphasis on WSIB policies and processes Experience in cement or related industry (such as lime, metals, minerals or mining) or construction strongly preferred Core Competencies Effectively examine events, issues and problems and generate optimal solutions in a timely manner. Communicate with impact and create an environment in which people communicate honestly and openly. Develop and leverage effective networks and relationships with others inside and outside of the organization Work effectively in the face of ambiguity, shifting priorities and rapid change while actively developing one’s skills and capabilities Ability to deal with complex, sensitive and personal issues while maintaining confidentiality Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions.
