Their programmes aim at ensuring quality of life for children and young people in social care. They are made up of a network of professionals with a wealth of experience in the care social industry, this includes independent social work practitioners, care owners and managers, therapists, teachers and senior residential staff. They are looking for experienced, compassionate and resilient Support Workers to help support young people aged 16-25 in various settings in and around London and Peterborough in Residential semi-independent living. The position involves supporting Young People daily and helping them acquireindependent living skills. Support workers must offer a range of support, including informal counselling, emotional support, advice, education and training, practical skills training, developing complementary networks and helping the service user address their cultural identity. As the successful candidate, your responsibilities will include : Working as part of a team and providing a supportive and stimulating environment that provides care and nurturing to the young people living in the unit. Safeguarding and promoting the physical and emotional well-being of the young people in the unit. Collaborating with co-workers and professionals to help backss the needs of the young people that have been referred/placed by Local Authorities, to support the care package. Building up local networks and knowledge of local resources, through other youth and complementary projects, leisure services etc. Supporting in attending appointments, assisting with accessing social activities and establishing hobbies to help the young person integrate with society.
