As a Substation Design and Commissioning Engineer you will be responsible for managing the Substation design and commissioning process for solar farm construction activities while ensuring project plans and schedules are followed and project scopes are executed effectively, safely, and within budget. Responsibilities Reviews overall substation concept design and works with substation and PV engineers to co-ordinate the flow of information and optimize design details. Assist with performing concept designs for feasibility and tendering in pre-contract stages and detailed design in the execution phase. Attend site walks, commissioning kick off meetings and training sessions, and provide technical assistance during project execution as required. Identifies and discerns root causes associated with design nonconformances and commissioning related deficiencies and reports to project team. Stays current with industry practices and technologies and seeks new and innovative construction methods and processes and assist with troubleshooting during PV and HV testing and performance testing during commissioning. Works with local utilities and grid operators with the development of energization documentation and assist with development of manuals and commissioning plans documentation. Identifies success stories and lessons learned and shares with estimating and project team for continuous project life cycle improvement. Understanding and actively manages client project-specific success criteria (CPSSC); specifically understands owners’ business, requirements, and revenue generation, and provides solutions.
