Database Services – Db2 & Mainframe offers end to end database solutions to our core banking applications. As a database architect, you will lead a highly skilled professional database team that focuses on delivering high quality, reliable database services to our clients. You will drive ARM product development to assist our database and data engineering enablement cross platforms. Is this role right for you? Hands on Python skills to drive ARM product development. Design High availability, backup/recovery and DR solutions for database infrastructure. Support Database Platform Engineering in the architecture, development and deployment of Db2 databases in high SLA environments Manage, support and maintain database technology and infrastructure, adhering to the architectural guidelines and policies Administrate database for off the shelf and internally developed applications, ensuring continuous 24x7 operation and availability in support of mission-critical business applications and participating in on-call rotation. Provide technical expertise and hands-on support in consolidation and migration of databases to new hardware and platforms. Proactive and reactive performance analysis, monitoring, and troubleshooting of technical issues Integrate new technologies with Scotiabank’s operational processes and deliver compliant Db2 Infrastructure services. Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? 8+ years of hands-on technical working experience of database system design, backup/recovery design strategy and capacity planning in large scale high availability environment. 8+years of hands-on technical working experience as an Db2 DBA, performing both engineering and operational/production support. 8+ years of hands-on technical working experience with database creation, configuration, HADR, backup/restore.
