The El-Shamayleh Lab at the Zuckerman Institute seeks to hire an Associate Research Scientist (ARS) to execute and contribute to research in neuroscience. The ARS will contribute to the lab's research in two ways: (i) by supporting experiments in systems and/or molecular neuroscience and (ii) by managing day-to-day aspects of the lab. Primary scientific responsibilities of the ARS will include: collecting experimental data and/or producing reagents or software needed for experiments. Additional responsibilities will include managing the storage of data and reagents, developing standard lab protocols, purchasing equipment and reagents, monitoring financial budgets, establishing project milestones and tracking research progress. The ARS will also contribute to the mentoring of junior trainees (e.g. graduate, undergraduate and high school students) and will contribute positively to shared teamwork with other laboratory research personnel.Columbia University's Mortimer B.
