The Master of Forensic Accounting (MFAcc) program is a 10-course program offered at the graduate level, primarily on a distance education basis, using a problem-based learning model supplemented by web-based sessions. The Program currently has the following Sessional Instructional Assistant position available for the Summer term and invites applications from suitably qualified candidates who are not current University of Toronto students. No late applications can be considered. Posting date: December 5, 2023 Closing date: January 7, 2024 Course title: Legal & Legal Process (IFA 1907H) # of Positions: 1 SIA Dates of appointment: May 28, 2024 – July 30, 2024 Description of Duties: Marking assignments and the examination in accordance with the marking guide developed in conjunction with the Instructor, and in accordance with the grading policies of the University of Toronto; consultation with the Director and Instructor as required. Est. Total Required Hours: 36 hours Rate: $52.26 per hour Enrolment: 16 students Description of course: Forensic accountants are called upon to investigate possible breaches of contracts, laws, or regulations, and to prepare reports that could be actionable in court, if necessary. IFA 1907H will review relevant laws and court related procedures to prepare the forensic accountant to fulfil their duties without offending legal expectations. Specific topics that will be covered will include: employment or labour law, family law, electronic commerce, intellectual property law, rules of civil procedure, trial and alternative dispute resolution processes, remedies and measures of damages, fraudulent conveyances, and assignments, criminal law and procedure and administrative law. .
