Revenues Officer Shropshire, UK Temporary Full Time We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Revenues Officer to join a team based in Shropshire on a full-time temporary ongoing basis, with an initial contract period of 3 months. The Revenues Officer will be responsible for providing administrative, and customer focussed support within a Revenues Team to assist towards the Revenues Service meeting its performance targets and aspirations. Please note a Basic DBS certificate is needed for this role. Requirements Previous experience working in a similar role is essential Knowledge of relevant legislation Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Good organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage workload efficiently, and meet deadlineinteractionperience providing an effective service to members of the public Full Basic DBS certificate is necessary for this role Role Expectations Accurately maintain and update council tax account records to ensure prompt billing and collection of council tax using the council’s computer system Maintain a knowledge and awareness of all aspects of Local Taxation legislation and regulations Assist in the effective and efficient collection of outstanding council tax due to the council Propose and check refunds of overpaid council tax for accounts in credit Deal with customer enquiries by telephone and letter in accordance with Service standards Develop relationships with key internal and external partners, in order to provide solutions such as access to properties, tenancy fraud, fire risks, and safeguarding Maintain Records: Accurately record all casework in line with relevant policies and procedures, ensuring confidentiality and data protection guidelines.
