Who We Are The work of Good Shepherd is based on a fundamental belief in providing hope and restoring dignity to the most vulnerable members of our community. Our services include emergency food transitional housing and education for homeless and street-involved youth; hospice palliative care; community mental health programs; and supportive housing programs. We are committed to integrating Harm Reduction practices into our programs and to prioritizing the rights, dignity, and choices of those who use substances. By integrating a Harm Reduction framework at Good Shepherd, we can decrease barriers to service and better support some of our community's most marginalized members. HOURS - Monday to Friday- 9am-5pm This opportunity is with our Good Shepherd - HOMES - Mc Ginty House How You Will Make an Impact Mc Ginty House is a transitional housing program that supports 10 co-ed tenants. Staff members support clients to reach personal goals and to have a satisfying and meaningful life in the community. Demonstrate a commitment to the mission values rooted through Hospitality of availability, responsibility, adaptability, quality and dignity Be aware of and sensitive to the issues related to poverty, homelessness, mental illness, addictions and developmental disabilities Enhance the dignity and quality of life of our clients through the assumed responsibility for cleaning services Cleaning Mc Ginty House, inclusive of tenant rooms Maintaining adequate supplies related to cleaning What You'll Bring to Our Team One year cleaning experience in a residential facility (preferred) Excellent written and oral communication skills are a necessity Experience working with the homeless would be an asset Certification in CPR or a willingness to be certified is also required Committed to anti-racist/anti-oppressive practice and to the mission and values of Good Shepherd Centres Fluency in a language in addition to English is an asset What We Offer Be a part of a caring TEAM.
