We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Southwark to assist with the appointment of a Personal Advisor , on a 3-month contract , highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration. Responsibilities: On the basis of backssed strengths, needs and risks, devise, implement and review pathway plans, collaboratively with the young person. Manage the caseload as directed, and organise and plan work activities, prioritising tasks and responsibilities. Provide written and verbal reports, which are concise, informative and based on analysis of complex evidence, for a range of audiences, including young people, reviews, panels and other formal meetings, and court. Work with key professionals from the department and externally to offer advice and implement pathway plans. Contribute to professional discussion and challenge in an appropriate manner. Attend and contribute to young person statutory review and any child protection/adult safeguarding meetings, including Court as appropriate. Undertake the statutory role of personal advisor as defined in Care Leavers Act 2018, Care Leavers Regulations 2010, The Children Act 1989 Guidance and Regulations, Volume 3: Planning Transition to Adulthood for Care Leavers, and the Children and Families Act 2014. Requirements: Knowledge of the health, education, training and work experience needs of young people and how these can be met An understanding of the needs of children looked after, and care leavers, including adolescent development, the impact of trauma, transition to independence, environmental factors, and risk and protective factors. Knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory framework relating to children, young people and families, particularly leaving care regulations. Knowledge and understanding of the problems and issues faced by people living in an inner city, multi-racial/cultural community Knowledge of roles and responsibilities.
