The course may include fiction, poetry, drama, non-fiction, and visual media, and will cover works by authors such as John Bunyan, Robert Louis Stevenson, Lewis Carroll, Mark Twain, Lucy Maud Montgomery, A. A. Milne, Louise Fitzhugh, Salman Rushdie, Cherie Dimaline, Aviaq Johnston, Katherina Vermette, Audrey Thomas, Jason Reynolds, Hanna Alkaf, Namina Forna. Section: LEC0101 (In-Person) Day(s): Tuesday, Thursday Time(s): 11-1, 12-1 Estimated Enrolment: 70 Est of TA hours: ~100 Sessional dates of appointment: January 8, 2024 – April 30, 2024 Salary SL1 - $18,915.79 per full course SL1 Long term - $19,861.58 per full course SL2 - $20,243.53 per full course SL3 - $20,725.52 per full course SL3 Long Term - $21,140.03 per full course Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail. Duties : All normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development, admin. and marking of assignments, tests and exams; calculation and submission of grades; holding regular office hours; supervising any TAs assigned to course, if applicable. Minimum Qualifications : Ph D in English with experience teaching children’s literature at the university level; strong academic record, demonstrated teaching ability, evidence of currency in subject matter.
