We are looking for a skilled and experienced furniture cabinetmaker to join our team. Job Duties: Study plans, specifications or drawings of articles to be made or prepare specifications Operate CADD and other computer software systems Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form a complete unit and reinforce joints Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain or polish to finished products; prepare and apply laminated plastics Apply varnish, veneer, stain or polish to finished products Maintain a clean and safe work environment Estimate costs and materials Operate woodworking machines and use hand tools to cut, shape and form parts and components Repair or restyle wooden furniture, fixtures and related products Prepare and assemble cabinets for installation Install cabinets and custom millwork with a team Instruct apprentices Job Requirements: 3-5 years of experience in cabinet making or other wooden fixtures If less than 3 years of experience, a post-secondary education certificate OR completion of a three-to four-year apprenticeship program is required Knowledge of carpentry within the kitchen, millwork industry Skilled in machining, finishing and installation Good knowledge of cabinet construction (kitchens, bars, vanities and custom millwork, etc. ) Experience working with a range of materials (wood veneers, solid wood, MDF, melamine) Knowledge and understanding of the manufacturing environment Ability to use various hand and power tools such as sanders, routers, saws, and edge bander Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures Demonstrated ability to read blueprint drawings and work orders Ability to manage multiple priorities Ability to work independently or as part of a team to accomplish tasks High attention to details Type of Employment: Full-time – Permanent Start Date: As soon as possible Salary: $24,50 hourly, 35-40 hours per week Benefits: Health/Dental benefits, Tools/equipment and work uniforms.
