Purpose Leads and oversees Document & Regulatory Control department in Canada ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. Accountabilities Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge. Manage the regulatory business processes with the purpose of keeping our Global Wealth Management businesses safe while increasing the efficiency of our administrative deliverable to those businesses QI, FATCA, CRS, Reg 1300, and AML / ATF: Manager programs that monitor compliance with Anti-Money Laundering / Anti-terrorist Financing (AML/ATF) regulations, QI/FATCA regulations, The Common Reporting Standard program, The IIROC Regulation 1300 program and provide detailed results to the Wealth Management business Ensure that reporting, regulatory and compliance requirements/issues are being managed and delivered within required time frames including year-end tax reporting requirements for QI/FATCA and CRS. Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. Creates an environment in which their team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
