Term of App't: Monday - Friday, not to exceed 6 hrs/day Start date: To be determined Reporting to: Dean of Trades & Apprenticeships Salary: $46.44 - $55.11 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications as per the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement. Temporary employees receive an additional 2% in lieu of benefits, 6% vacation and 4.2% statutory holiday pay included with each pay. Description: Northern Lights College is seeking an individual who would be interested in being available as a temporary, relief on-call instructor to backfill in the classroom, as required. This program provides all aspects of instruction in the Heavy-Duty Technician Apprenticeship/Foundation programs, consisting of theoretical and practical training in addition to the essential skills related to the Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician Apprenticeship programs in levels 1 through 4 and in the Foundation program. We adhere to the ITA (Industry Training Authority of BC) curriculum guidelines for the HD trade in the province of BC which prepares the apprentices for the Interprovincial Red Seal examinations at the end of their training. Qualifications: Candidates must possess the Inter Provincial Red Seal in Heavy Duty technician certification, with a minimum of five years' experience at this level. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work and contribute positively to the College environment are essential. A supportive attitude to students and student success is expected. Teaching experience is preferred. The successful candidate should hold, or be willing to work towards attaining, the Provincial Instructor Diploma.
