Title: Operations Supervisor - Kitting Department.Location: Texas-LewisvilleObjective and Purpose of RoleThe purpose of the Operations Group is to provide support to the customer and serve as a liaison between the customer and the Corporate Office. Support that is provided includes value-added supply chain services such as picking, packing, receiving, return logistics, and shipping. Supervisors provide operational support for the contract by maintaining quality performance objectives, supervising non-exempt personnel, assisting in cost control programs, and ensuring that employees are properly trained to execute job functions. The Supervisor should be proactive in looking for ways to improve current operations and work to increase CEVA's business scope. The Supervisor is also responsible for thinking strategically while becoming more intimate with the customer's business. Dimensions and Quantities (describe the scale and scope of influence of the job. Include quantities influenced by a) the department & b) the individual directly e.g. sales/income, geographical area, number of products, number of clients, direct reports, budget authority etc.Supervisors have ten - 20 direct reports depending of area of responsibility. These are mostly non-exempt direct reports with the exception a clerical position. Key Activities and Accountabilities- Provide ABC analysis for issues and solve through root cause analysis and LEAN methodologies. - Distribute receiving, put-way, picking, packing, shipping, boxing, kitting, and sub-assembly work assignments and resolve any associated problems. - High-school diploma / Bachelor's Degree preferred, with a plus for Logistics or Transportation - Knowledge of warehouse management systems - Outstanding written, verbal, and inter-personal skills to manage and motivate workforce and others - Responsible for managing the operations workforce - Expertise to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment - Required Behavioural Competencies (refer to or attach the relevant Company/Divisional competencies description for this role)- Generate timely metrics - Must have strong technical skills with current knowledge of Ms word and Microsoft excel - Maintain equipment maintenance and preventative maintenance - Support payroll processing - Essential Educational and / or Training Requirements & Certificates - Create, train, promote, and enforce all Quality, Safety, and Environmental procedures and work instructions to maintain an error free, safe, and clean work atmosphere. - Lead the Kitting Department by providing leadership, guidance and direction for the flow of materials, packing operations, and managing customer expectations for output. - Must possess with LEAN and 5S methodologies and apply them in a work-place setting. - Be accountable to the Quality, Safety, Productivity, and Profitability of the contract.Activities and Accountabilities - Must be versed on safety and compliance issuesTechnical and Functional Skills - Investigate customer complaintsBackground and Education - Activities and accountabilities vary depending on the contract and the needs of the customer. Some responsibilities of the supervisor position are shared between the different types of contracts. - 2 Years background, preferably some Supervisory background in a Transportation, Logistics, Warehouse, or Cross-dock environment
